Applications

Cargen primarily focuses on offering purification solutions for biogas, water, air, and soils. This focus reflects the extensive experience of the company’s founders in these sectors.  Our modular plug & play filters were specially designed, and the activated carbon range specifically compiled, to meet the purification needs of these sectors.

Biogasproduction

At Cargen, we know that no two biogas production facilities are alike. Thanks to our years of experience, we understand that when there are excessively high concentrations of, for example, H2S or siloxanes in the biogas, it is essential to act efficiently and, above all, quickly to protect CHP units.

Whether it involves biogas from landfill gas, biogas from organic waste digestion, biogas from industrial organic waste processing, or biogas from co-digestion, whether a large-scale or small-scale production facility, Cargen is ready to meet your purification needs.

With our in-depth expertise and decades of practical experience in the biogas sector, Cargen stands out effortlessly from other players in the activated carbon market. At Cargen, we understand the complexity of biogas production and upgrading, whether it involves purifying raw biogas to pure biogas, to biomethane, or green gas. In other words, we know which process parameters have a direct impact on biogas composition and how they can be controlled.

Cargen’s advanced, mobile activated carbon filters offer a cost-effective and sustainable solution for the structural purification of biogas. Our plug & play filters improve the efficiency of your processes and provide custom solutions for your specific situation.

Worldwide, the notion that water is an inexhaustible resource is long behind us. It goes without saying that our drinking water must be pure and clean. Fortunately, there is a growing awareness of the reuse of water for a variety of applications and the purification of (process) water prior to its return to nature.

Cargen understands the crucial role of water, the importance of preserving a healthy environment, and the need to protect our valuable water resources. That’s why we offer (filtration) solutions that minimize the impact of our human activity on the environment.

Cargen draws on extensive experience and detailed knowledge of both the type of waste and/or process water and the various water purification techniques. Our sustainable and reliable technology uses activated carbon filtration, which has proven its effectiveness and reliability for the removal of AOX, pesticides, hydrocarbons, PFAS, and other substances of concern, color and odor molecules, etc.

Our user-friendly filtration solution with AquaPure filters forms the final step of your water purification, whether you need to purify smaller quantities or several hundred cubic meters of water per hour.

Air purification

On average, we breathe in and out between 10 and 20 times per minute under normal conditions. That amounts to more than 8,000 liters of air passing in and out of our lungs. We don’t think about it, it just happens – thankfully. However, there has been a notable shift in focus toward the quality of the air we breathe. Industrial processes can cause various emissions and odor components that do not contribute positively to air quality.

Adsorption via activated carbon is an efficient and cost-effective solution for removing a wide range of contaminating compounds to below legally determined emission limits. This includes polyaromatic hydrocarbons, BTEX, volatile organic compounds, etc. Common applications where activated carbon is frequently used include tank cleaning, degassing of ship holds and tank farms, chemical filling installations, distillation processes, odor control in certain production processes, and much more.

Our flexible plug & play AirPure filter units are designed to serve both structural and ad-hoc air purification applications. As a customer, you do not need to invest in expensive infrastructure, as this is provided by Cargen. Together, we ensure a reliable and professional solution for the air purification of your industrial processes.

Flanders and, by extension, Western Europe are heavily industrialized regions. These industrial activities have led to significant historical and current soil contamination. The government is making strong efforts to remediate these polluted lands during reconversions. Activated carbon technology is (almost) always central to this process.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, better known as PFAS, have recently received a lot of media attention. Especially the long-chain PFAS are very successfully removed from contaminated soils with activated carbon. But other soil contaminants, such as mineral oils, volatile chlorinated solvents (VOCL), and volatile aromatics (BTEX), are also effectively addressed using activated carbon during the purification process.

Cargen has decades of practical experience in soil remediation. Hundreds of projects have been carried out, ranging from small and simple to complicated and very large-scale projects. Activated carbon has been and continues to be commonly used in these efforts.

Based on this experience, Cargen offers custom solutions and technical support to ensure that your remediation project is successful. Our team of experts works closely with you to select the right activated carbon and filter solution to meet the specific needs of your project. Flexibility and 24/7 service with a quick response are central to this.
