On average, we breathe in and out between 10 and 20 times per minute under normal conditions. That amounts to more than 8,000 liters of air passing in and out of our lungs. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, better known as PFAS, have recently received a lot of media attention. Especially the long-chain PFAS are very successfully removed from contaminated soils with activated carbon. But other soil contaminants, such as mineral oils, volatile chlorinated solvents (VOCL), and volatile aromatics (BTEX), are also effectively addressed using activated carbon during the purification process.
